Weekly Showcase - January 24th 2024

Goodness gracious, we are getting there aren't we? Where is that? I don't know, but we're all struggling through this thing called life, and waking up for another day of it is something to celebrate. And if you've managed to wake up today, here is a reward for you in the form of another weekly showcase!

Dan is kicking things off today for us with perhaps the most beautiful paint job on the new Cities of Sigmar I have seen. Such a beautiful clean and smooth painting style, with an expert use of NMM. The faces are so very incredible, and you can almost feel the personality oozing from those poor little plastic people. The choice to make a tiny diorama style base for them is awesome, and really wraps everything up perfectly. I'm looking forward to seeing Dan paint more of these up! Go check out Dan's page for beautiful inspirational art!

Next up is another amazing sculpt, with a paint job that does it all the justice in the mortal world. Guido has taken a deathly sculpt, and given it life! I absolutely love the cloak, with the subtle green/yellow coming through on the highlights. It gives so much more interest, from such an inconspicuous touch. The bone has been wonderfully pulled off, as well as the really cool work on applying the rust across the metal. I'm a big fan of this model and , paint job, and if you are too, you can check out Guido's page for more!

Third up today is a rather interesting sculpt and a cool paint job to match. It looks like a fairly difficult model to paint, with the jagged angles. However, this artist has ensured that not to be the case, with a really cool job on the blue toned armour, specially with the highlighting. The little pops of colour through the lights/gems add a nice finishing touch to overall paint job. The base is also really cool, with a super realistic job in painting stone. Go check out the artist's page for more!

Ending the showcase today is none other than Florian, who recently treated us to his dioramic frames. Now he's treating us to this really cool paint job. This is a really unique scheme for them, and I just love the paler skin tones applied here. Those colours then work perfectly alongside the lovely green armour, giving the overall atmosphere one that is pale and sickly, yet colourful and characterful. He spent quite some time painting a full army in this scheme, and that's a sight to behold. Go and give this man some more love!

And that's that for this week. As always (at least I hope) this was a real varied bunch of painting styles, skills and sculpts. And I love that about these showcases; the true eclectic nature of this hobby. Do not be afraid to show off your painted work, especially if you are proud of the time and effort you have put into it. You never know who you might just inspire with your own story and work.
